The solenoid uses a preset duty cylce like the FD sytem. It's a "dumb" system not like a electronic boost controller.

The easiest thing to do is disconnect the wg vac line and run it.

Careful not to over boost but this will see if you can build more than 6psi. If that's the case use a mbc or a ebc.

i think i'll wait to try the "unplug wastegate vac source" trick til i am done with break-in i felt bad enough hitting 5 lbs of boost a coupel times for 1 second at a time..

maybe i should use a stock boost solenoid to try it out?

Well I just confirmed that if you hook the wastegate directly up to the turbo outlet pressure, you will see 5 psi max of boost. As soon as I unplugged the wastegate, whoa it's way different, spools much faster and yea had to back off cause boost was going up fast.

Looks like I need a boost controller.

So don't unplug the line if you want to limit boost to 5 psi or less.

BTW my wastegate started moving before 5 psi so I guess it limits how fast boost builds also.
