my smog guy didnt even do a visual. i filled out my information on their sheet and before i was done they had my results which i passed way below the limit. i jsut had to put 1/2 the stock intake in so the the tube from the air pump was connected to the mass air flow sensor. ya dig?

You know, you are right on that now that you mention it. When I was looking to going to a dual exhaust setup on my Thunderbird, the guy said it would cost about $300 more than upgrading the single, because they'd have to add a cat, since it had two precats (one on each header) that Y'd into a large main cat. He said if I went to (true) duals, I'd have to have a seperate main cat for each side because they're not allowed to have less cats on a car than it came with, but it's okay to add. So yeah, you're right on that.

Your only hope would be someone who didn't check the book, or who believed you when you said "Oh no, this is an 89 1/2 model, they only had one cat from the factory, if you'd like I can bring you the TSB on it"
