okay to leave oil jet in e-shaft during cleaning?

I am in mid-rebuild stages and I am getting ready to clean the e-shaft. I got one of the oil jets out but the other is stuck, and I am beginning to mess up the flat head groove. It seems to me that it would be alright just to leave it in during clean up, as long as I effectively blow the holes dry. Am I correct in my assumption? Or should I keep working at removing it?

thanks
