Okay gurus AFM suggestions?

okay so i am browsing the net and i come across an old school re amemiya front mount kit that has the afm flange welded to the inlet side. now my question is, is it benifitial to convert to blow-through verses the factory setup? or is it just moving the restriction to the charge side?

when you say blow through are you suggesting getting rid of the AFM? There have been many speculations as to if placing the afm after the turbo as to the stock setup provides any gain in horsepower. All in all, IMO, the afm is still restricting just as much air as it should be which to me seems that it doesnt make a difference where it is placed. In order to get rid of your afm entirely, youll have to switch to a full standalone unit or hks makes a "vein pressure regualtor" system that recreates the afm signals for your ecu but eliminates the AFM at the same time. I beleive the new greddy emanage ultimate has this feature as well but i im not 100% sure on that.

yeah i was aware of replacing it with either the vpc or standalone, i was just curious as to why some of the older fmic kits had you relocate as a blow-through.
