Ok, well my car still isn't starting. Some help please.
Well my old post kinda died, so here we go with the new and fresh.
What happened origonally is I was out driving, and then, poof, i lost power, rolled to a stop, and my car stalled, and wouldnt restart.
it turns over, and then attempts to start, but dies immediatly.
ive checked like everything i could think of, we pulled the uim and none of the fuel injectors had the little clips to hold the connectors on, so we cleaned the connectors, got my hands on some of the clips, put it all back together today.. and
... the same thing.
it just turns over, then it starts and revs to 2k, then dies. its getting fuel to the rails, and the injectors ohmed out correctly, and the previous owner said they were new.
checked compression, and it was a hard 3 even pulses from each hole
and this is on a rebuilt engine with 800ish miles on it, and i changed the oil at 500.
im really stumped here, any help would be greatly appreciated.

Test the fuel pressure. Don't pull the hose off & watch it squirt, put a pressure gage inline on the supply side. Fuel pressure/supply probelms could be a pump, filter, regulator, dampener or restrticeted supply hose.
Do some more testing, check fuel pressure, ignition, base timing, fuel quality etc. I bet you'll find it.

oh, and ignition seemed to be ok, we tested each plug and each one was sparking fine, but i replaced the plugs anyways because i had a spare set.

Install the fuel pressure gage with a "T" in the fuel supply line. That's the line that goes from the filter to the rail. I'd expect the fuel pressure while cranking to be at least 30-35 psi. Most fuel pressure gages are 0-100 psi.

nah cant keep it running at all, it never really truly starts.. the engine just spins up to 2kish and the drops off.
i just checked the ecu for codes.. at first it was spitting the code for intake temp sensor.. and i was like uhm..
then i noticed i still had the afm unplugged from before
i plugged the afm back in and it stopped giving that code, and doesnt give any codes anymore.

you have fuel and you have spark, I assume.
Have you stabbed the CAS properly (in case you took it out) ?
see https://www.rx7club.com/forum/showth...&highlight=cas
If all checks ok, then I don't know, maybe the primary injectors are not firing. Check wiring to them (including grounds).

i never took out the cas, i checked it according to the haynes and it checked out ok, i have no clue about timing and dont have access to a timing light
i know i have spark, and im pretty sure i have fuel, i dont know how much fuel pressure, but im pretty sure i have fuel.

I think you should get a compression tester.. becuase if you listen it may sound good.. but i heard if there was pessure or sumthing on all the spark plugs... compression might slip through the seals or sumthing... im not sure but... its more accurate than listining

Put your car on a trailer, send it down to Charlotte, N.C. & for $62 I'll tell you why your car won't start
But seriously, you NEED a fuel pressure gage. You NEED a timing light. You NEED a noid light or some type of LED to test the primary injector signal. Don't have the tools? This pro is tired of guessing at your problem... Pay a pro with the tools & the know-how Or keep guessing till you get it right.

I had a huge vac leak (the bov recerculating hose from the ic that i caped blew off) and it did the same thing reved up to about 2k then died.
i could keep it going by flooring it sometimes.
I would try to swap out a ecu if u can borrow one.
