Angry ok!!!!! i need some info!!!!

I went and took my car to pass emissions and i had a buddy working, so made up some bullsh*t and told him not to run my car on the "dyno" thing and just to do a idle test!! Well their computer said it won't test because i had to much of an "Irratic idle">(high Idle) !!But the thing is my car was idling at 900 rpm's i told the dude their if my idle was any lower my car probably would die!!

I watched them put some kind of "thing" on one of my spark plug wires?? to run the test on the emissions!!>>my idle is just fine isn't it???

I hate when people or machines ( Especially emissions people!!!!!!! )think they know anything about these cars

I have a 87 n/a

Please Help on what to do or tell them?????????????????????????????????????????????? ???????????????????????????????????PLEASE!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!everyone respond!!

Your idle standard is 750 rpms. The computer may probably be wrong. I think that I remember reading somewhere that if you are using a peice of equipment to read an RX-7s idle, it has to be configured to read a 6-cylinder car. Anyone else got any ideas? Oh..Which plug wire did they tap into? That "thing" they put on your wire was probably an inductive timing lead. It senses the ignition pulse through the wire via a phenomenom called "induction". Problem here is that if they put the sensor on the trailing plugs, they would get bad readings. If I remember correctly, trailings fire twice as much as leadings. This would give you a REALLY high idle reading...

Actually, Leading fires twice as much as trailing. To get an accurate reading for emissions, the inductive pickup should be connected to a trailing plug wire, and the machine should be set up for a 4-cylinder DIS system (fires once every revolution of e-shaft).
