ok guys it time for braggin

hey
I straped a video cam with a built in clock and did 0-60 in 7.2 seconds flat after rewinding it over and over again to find out. This was in my 89n/a with bonez race pipe and filter. No a/c and 10,000 on stock rebuild. Let me remind you that its near exactly the times stated on the net for a stock one. Turbos I read can do 14.4 in perfect running condition. When im hooked up I plan on doing low 6. and 14.3 in the quarter. I just got a job and first paycheck should be 800 bucks so I will be dynoing and making more runs.

I an not sure where I would end up in the 1/4 or 0-60, but with my mods, it feels much quicker than stock! Now that its getting cooler, it seems my car has also added about 30-40 more HP! It loves the cold...too bad I don't, miss summer already! Mods in sig...

Oh yeah.... I have a Buick Grand National 3.8i turbo/intercooled drivetrain in my 2nd gen RX-7 that is pretty much stock with a stock turbo. I know the purists are going to have a sh*t fit.
The engine was rated at doing 14.2@94mph and 4.9 seconds 0-60mph stock in a 3500lb car. My car weighs 2670lbs in race trim which is a free 80hp. I've just turned up the boost an additional 8lbs +80hp $3, added good exhaust +20hp $120, small cam +10hp $149, minor hand porting +15hp $free, higher timing chip+10hp $free, larger injectors +0hp $200, and nice intercooler +20hp $650. These numbers are on 116octane and 20psi. All of these mods are only about $1.1K in additional mods to the original purchase of the engine. I had my transmission built at AAMCO and it has yet to skip a beat and run the stock tq convertor.
0-60 should be right at about 4 seconds I'm guessing.
Using a hp calculator I am at about 333rwhp which is about 400hp at the crank as my car is an automatic using the stock GN turbo. These little engines develope massive torque which is I'm sure close to 450ft/lbs of tq with my mods as they were 350ft/lbs stock with only 12psi.
Was commuting to work 350miles/wk in this vehicle so it is reliable.
Car is currently down getting larger turbo (supports 620hp), professionally ported heads with larger s/s valves, fully ported lower intake, 3" mandrel bent downpipe, 3.5" mandrel bent exhaust, larger cam with 10 degrees more duration and .050" more lift, high ratio roller rockers, and higher stall convertor that weighs about 15lbs less to help with rotational mass. This turbo can support 25-30psi on race gas and flows much more air than the stock turbo. At that level the car should go mid 10's at 130mph+.

I believe you kabooski, I just am amazed. I am going to the track tomorrow. It will be my first time, and I hope to bring home a slip that is in the 13's or at least beat this turbo charged CRX down there. The car is at low 14s so wish me luck.
