I started my car today after putting a running engine in. I noticed a large oil leak coming from the Oil Pressure Sensor that is located below the pedastal. So, I tried to tighten it and it snapped off clean from the block. Oh great, now...how bad is this? The oil pressure unit hardly works anyway. Can I just JB weld up the hole?

Maybe, I've never had luck with easy out's though. This sucks, the sensor must have been busted by previous owner because I had put about 1lb of pressure before it popped right off.

Dont be a *****, Do it right, it will be worth it.
My Sensor went bad, and broke when I tried to loosen it.. its a very brittle brass.
I was patient, and collected the right tools to get this thing out right.
I just moved over a few hoses, and removed the oil filter pedistool for easier access, than used a drill (the ones that have a 90 degree bend on the end, so that it fits in the small space) and drilled it out. Than used a typical easy out to remove it. Easy outs' work great, you just have to be patient and make sure you dont put any sideways tension on them, since they are not very strong that way, and will break farely easy.

All right, I hear you on that. If you have had success with the same problem, I will give it a go. I'll put a plug in the spot until I get to Los Angeles and throw a sensor in there. I should have left 3 days ago!

Spending a few hours and some money on properly fixing the oil pressure gauge is still better than spending a few thousand dollars and many, many hours replacing an oil-starved engine...
Even the stock gauge is better than no gauge.

Okay, good news! The EZ-Out worked. Thanks Ra Ra Rotary. It was actually really easy, the drilling is made VERY easy because there's already a hole in the center of the fitting, which makes centering cake. Tapped the EZ Out with a small hammer, then used a hand tap to turn it, came slowely but it worked. I'm going to stick a bolt in there for now, and order a oil pressure sending unit from Mazdatrix. Case Closed!
