oil pressure sender, oil pan leak

so i'm in the process of repairing my car and i've found the source to a few.

first

- oil pressure sender is busted, i need to know where to find the ignition wire (12 volt), accessory wire, and where the fireport from the interior to the engine bay is.

pictures would do wonders if its not asking to much.

-----------

my engine oil pan is also leaking, so is the transmission pan. how hard would this be to fix?
any special tools or extra-ordinary steps of precaution that i should take.

thanks all! i really want to get my car in driveable condition, it probably is right now but i just want to be careful. thanks again.

tranny pan is leaking? Is it an automatic? The manual trannys don't have a pan. If so, tighten the bolts and it should be good. If it still leaks, you might have to replace the gasket. No special tools required, just a torque wrench. Don't over tighten the bolts or you could bend the pan flange. Same for the engine oil pan.

The engine wire harness feeds through the fire wall on the passenger side in the corner by the fender.

Torque for the oil pan bolts, the small ones is only 8-10 ft-lbs. Check first to see if they are loose. If they are, take them out, clean thoroughly with brake clean and re-install with blue thread lock. That may fix your leak. Also check the pan for dents and/or distortion. Look at the oil pan gasket edge. If it is protruding at the bolts, it may have been over torqued previously. That usually requires a new gasket.

The same proceedure may work for the tranny pan.

so basicly i'm lifting the car up, draining the oil, remove pan...replace gasket...and put back.

ok thanks. that sounds like a straight forward job

....now for the wires, do you happen to know the colors? or are they all the same and i'm going to take a shot in the dark.
