It is slim but possible. It would be much more possible if the oil cooler was not flushed when they put the new motor in, and the old motor died from a seal or metal failure.

The oil pressure will be about 10-15 lbs low at all times if it is the E-shaft valve. So its very common to see 0-15 psi at idle and around 45 psi at 3000 RPM (instead of the normal 30 PSI at idle and 55-60 PSI at 3000 RPM.)

The other thing to look at would be the front O ring being installed wrong on a new or rebuilt motor. That would have the oil pressure drop the higher the RPMs go. Typically 15-30 PSI at idle, and less than 45 psi at 3500-4000 RPM, and less than 30 PSI at 5000 RPM

WOOOOW! It's like you're reading my pressure gauge. You exactly described the problem I'm having with my new TII reman. I'm like 10 psi at idle and around 45-58 at 2.5-3.5K RPM. I'm jumping on that pellet first chance I get. So which one should I get? Original mazda thermo pellet some other unit?
