coo.

front cover o-rings are a PITA, wish there was a more solid fix for this problem. omitting the front cover gasket is a slightly better method than stock to cure the problem but still isn't bulletproof, someone needs to make a metal sleeve with a rubber sealing tip to prevent blowouts, it would work 1000 times better than our current "fix".

Sorry, but none of your post mentions whether you addressed the o-ring issue pointed out from the Mazdatrix link or from Karacks question. The Mazdatrix link does describe what you do. I think somehow you missed the part about the oil rising with rpms. Mazdatrix does not say that the oil pressure would remain zero, It would be low at all levels. Just like you describe. I would consider the o-ring issue. That bad thing is all the fixes you describe are labor intensive!!!

Sorry I didn't see the second page at teh bottom. I am glad to see that you found the problem.

I am glad that you post these issues as I am rebuilding right now and I will be looking for this problem ahead of time

The whole o-ring and oil pressure rising after giving it throttle and all that. I read another oil pressure on here where some members said that if the o-ring was blown then it would not build up very high of oil pressure as the RPMs increased, but mine was still hitting ~70 at the higher RPMs, which was why I was confused. I was never directly talking about what mazdatrix says on their site.

with your oil regulator modifications it would have masked the leaky o-ring problem, the o-ring usually only causes extremely low oil pressure when warm and at idle but will still build oil pressure at higher RPMs.

Yep, and I found that out upon removal.

Makes me realize that my rebuilt stock OPR good for 85psi probably wasn't the problem, even though I still did replace it with a Racing Beat one that was known to be fine.

Now I have a rebuilt stocker good for 85psi and nothing to do with it, oh well.
