If you have a spare and you have the oil pan off, change the pressure regulator on the rear iron and pressure control valave on the front cover. That should cover all the bases and hopefully on of those cures the problem.
He already changed the thermo pellet If that was bad, he wouldn't be having pressure at any rpm.

I guess no one wants to read through all my posts? Here are the things I have already done

Oil thermo valve in E-shaft replaced with pellet
Front cover 0-ring changed
Rear Iron OPR changed
Verified flow going through oil cooler
Verified oil pickup is not blocked

Once again, symptoms:

When revs drop to idle, seems to stop at 30psi for a few seconds, then will bleed down to almost 0. Pressure peaks at ~55psi at ~4000rpm, and will not build any more the whole way to redline.

Is the rear OPR you put in stock or a higher aftermarket unit?

Nevermind then

Good luck, I'm having low oil pressure problems on a fresh rebuild too! Fun isn't it?

Yep, its wonderful Now that ive replaced everything besides that bypass spring on the bottom of the front cover, Im really hoping changing that will fix the problem. I hate just hanging parts on the car like I am, but with something like this, where there are a few things that can cause very similar symptoms, its pretty much hit or miss. If it turns out not to be that spring, then Ill be very confused.

Yep I'm confused about mine, low rpms and idle I have fairly low oil pressure, by redline I am hitting over 75 psi (something like 80 or so) as viewed on my Autometer gauge.

Oh well, hopefully ppl will get some ideas in my thread. Good luck to you and I look forward to hearing what it ended up being once you figure it out.

Okay with everything you have doen then next thing I would be looking at is rebuilding or spec'ing out the oil pump itself.

Thumbs up

ok sir,

same thing happend to me like 2 months ago, except mine is a turbo motor, also recently rebuilt about 3k miles ago. in my case my oil pressure was dropping to 0 as well, so i changed the oil and when i removed my oil filter, OH OH i found half of the front cover o-ring right there ont he oil filter stand.

i was like shiiit!

i knew excatly which o-ring it was becuase it even still had a little silicone on it when i put it on.so i did the whole front cover work just for the freken o-ring and put everything back together. started her up, same shiet!! i was pissed.

i tried changing the oil pressure sender and VOILA! my oil pressure is back to normal!!

by the way, i never found the other half of the o-ring, not in the oil pan or filter, o well, maybe i just didnt see it come out in the oil.

so yes PLEASE check ur oil press. sender, if u tried it already maybe u just tred another bad one..

wont huirt to try again.

hope that helps good lucj

he has already used a mechanical gauge to confirm the low pressure.

And please fix your siganture. The owners of the board has specified 6 lines maximum for signatures. Yours is 3 times that size. Please fix yours before they see it and delete it entirely.
