Oil pressure issues
Hey everyone I have a 86 TII and it has been having oil pressure problems. When it starts up it shoots up to normal psi, then after it warms up it refuses to build oil pressure. I have taken out the sending unit and put in an oil pressure gauge as well as put in an atkins oil thermal pellet. It doesn't smoke at all. Oil pump, sump, or pressure regulator?
Any info is appriciated.
Thanks in advance,
Mikey

I'm not sure but I dont think having the turbo off would have caused an oil pressure drop, unless the oil feed line is leaking, was the oil pressure o.k before the intercooler/manifold gasket change?even if the oil feed line was leaking still shouldn't keep the car from building pressure. check out mazdatrix site check out that peice on front cover o-ring, it's happened to me, over time the o-ring gets hard and leaks it a preatty easy fix they give a good explanation of what happens to the pressure #,s check it out would go into it but i dont feel like writing a book.
