OIL PRESS after warmup.

Ok Heres the deal, I know about the thermo pellet and also about the FC o-ring. But both of them give you low oil press at both start up and warm up. PLus I just replaced the oring. I get steady 60psi or more according to the stock guage. And then it goes down to 30psi or a lil more, when I step on the gas it goes up to about 40 or so.

Mines is kinda like that tooo but when i start it it doesnt idel at 3K it start at around 1.7K? And yes its in neutral with the clutch out so i dont why? And my oil pressure stay at 29-30 then i give it gas and it raises to like 40-50-60 depending on how much gas? is it supposed to be like that?

i have this problem as well, but on the highway it sometimes drops to 40 and then magic its up to 60 i dont understand it. it must have something to do with the ecu's signal to the omp.

If you're using 20W50 and it's reasonably warm out, you should be around 30lbs at idle, and around 60lbs by 3000 RPM.

If you want higher pressure, you'll have to replace the oil pressure regulator. You can get higher pressure regulators from most RX-7 stores.

Personally I don't see any advantage to running higher oil pressure on a stock system, let alone modded.

What would be the point?

The pressures you are seeing are about the same as I've experienced.

My 1988 T2 with 20W50 typically runs at 30 idle, 60-65 max at higher rpms.

My previous RX-7 (first generation) ran about the same oil pressures as my T2.

its not about running higher oil press. I just dont want to run low press. I dont think it goes back up to 60 after being warm. It stays around 40 or so.
