Oil guage not working
My oil gauge isn't working on my '88 non turbo. I'm getting 11.5 volts at the Y/R wire on the pressure unit, while key on engine off. Nothing shows on the guage.
The book mentions a condensor spliced into the Y/R wire and placed in between oil filter and clave slave, but there isn't one there. No wire, No condensor. My question is "is this condensor important enough to cause no operation when missing?"

Check the Connection to the Oil pressure Sender..Also,There IS a Condensor.it is a Black Square like thing with an O end on it,that a bolt would normally Go through.IF it is on there,it would be hooked up at the clutch slave cylinder, one one of the mounting bolts, and then go to Ground..it's Function is to Provide the Sender with a Smooth ground, with no Fluctuation.IF it is off,you either Get No Oil Sender reading,Or the Pressure will read Off the gauge(like pegged).

okay, there is absolutely no condensor, must have been taken off from previous owner ( got the car in pieces). Where would I be able to buy one? I have tryed junk yards but most of them rip the engines out.
