Oil Cooler Size

my oil cooler was leaking so i bought another one from ebay and it turns out to be 11.5 inches rather than 22.5 stock. now i was wondering if it would cool or do i need to get another one.

You need the proper sized cooler. Oil cooling in the FC accounts for about 30% of the cooling capacity of the car.

It's likely that your old cooler can be fixed. Most rad shops can do this, fairly cheaply as well.

Is the stock cooler a tube that flows the oil through with little fins on the tube(s)? Or does the oil flow through little holes in the fins themselves?

Secondly, for the turbo people, are you moving your oil coolers when fitting a FMIC?

Rx7 922: It's not a big deal to have it fixed. Mine cost under $40.

Drag'nGT: The stock cooler has several tubes through which the oil flows. The fins are brazed to the outside of the tubes. Yes, many people with FMICs find it necessary to move the cooler around to get optimal cooling.
