oil cooler question

in the haynes manual it tells u to flush the oil cooler out, but what do i use to do this? and how do i test the cooler to see if its the cooler leaking or the lines? thanks for the input.

I took mine to a radiator shop and had it pressure cleaned. Sonic cleaning is better, but I didn't know of a shop to do it.

I send mine out to an FAA Depot Level Certified Repair Facility: Cost is ~150.00, but it is hot flushed for 24 hours, thermoastat checked for proper operation, straightened, leak checked and Alonized. Better done right than Half-Assed.

Definately go with the professional cleaning because there is really no other way to effectively clean out all of the road debris and grime that has built up in the cooler over the years, especially when you take into account how important oil is to the cooling system on our cars.

This is especially true if you need to change the leaking lines to new steel-braided ones like I do. I agree also with the done right instead of just half-assed. Just my opinion though, take it or leave it.
