Oh No!!!

I took off my first, and second layer intake manifolds, to change the vaccum hoses. I put everything back together. I went to start it up and the battery was dead. Once i fixed that, I got it to start up, but the first couple times, the throttle cable came off. So, it'd only run for a few seconds. It had white/grey exhaust which i hope was just from some carb cleaner i used.

I ended up sitting the cable back correctly. Fired up my car, and it held. popping hella loud. With more white/grey smoke coming out the the ehaust

The my add coolant light and bruzzer went on. Which, im adtributing to the coolant house on the TB leaking and spraying coolant everywhere....

Well, to get to the pointed, for last week i've had a problem with my car idling, or even starting for that matter. Once it'd get started it run till it was warm sometimes and stall out, other times it'd stall till it was warm. Any ideas? the vaccum lines are all fine. Its not the tps either....

Did you use the old gaskets when you had the intakes up?

hrmmm....sounds like you have a coolant line leaking into the manifolds I dunno how you could have done that but check all your lines! Also even using the old gaskets as long as you used rtv it should have been fine...check all the coolant lines because white smoke usually means coolant is burning. Good luck!

Dude.... I hate to think this... But re--check everything... there are coolant lines running through the upper intake manifold... my idiot buddy actually somehow messed them up with the vaccume lines once and it did the EXACT same thing your car is doing...

Also.. did you put the vaccume plate between the UIM and the TB in the right way... if you didn't, you're vaccume system won't work

Leaky gaskets will make it idle like crap, but won't cause white smoke.....

How much carb cleaner did you spray in the system? there's probably just alot of residue sitting in the rotor houseings. and it's trying to burn off. As for the coolant leaks. you'll loose some while removing the intake manifolds, due to the fact you have to disconnect the hose running to the thermostat housing AND to the rear housing nipple

Just bypass everything and run the hose strait from (Thermostat housing - rear housing nipple) run it neatly under the UIM

-Markus

"Recheck everything.. make sure your UIM-LIM gasket is still good. also apply some RTV to each gasket before wrenching everything back together again" good luck!

You have to reset the idle adjustment as well as check the TPS. If there is a bad vacuum leak it won't even idle so if you can get it idling it is probably not vacuum leak.

For some reason both of my FC's ran finicky after doing intake work. What all did you do, did you mod the tb remove any solenoids or port manifolds at all. Did you leave on the rats nest of hard lines? Really check the idle adjustments and tps, htan once they are set properly, insure that plugs and wires look good, fluids ok, and than go flog it a bit on a good strecth of road. Maybe also reset your computer ( taking off ground for a few minutes) if you didn't do the work with the battery disconnected.

Also pour some water over your injectors to see if there are any leaks, they will buble if there is leaks.

My car hates it when you touch anything....(i sware its possessed by the devil at times.....or is that the rotary devil?)

I finally got it start and idle. It was doing fine, then check coolant light came on. Apparently, I have a nice split in my coolant lines on my tb. (Coolant everywhere)

So after that, it looks like everyhing is fine.
