Early 86= orange clock
Early 86= orange digits on the odo

And all RX-7s were built in the same factory in Japan.

Next thing someone is gonna post is something lame like "gee I found out the 88 model had a blacked out warning panel. That must be from a Jspec right?"
Thanks, I really appreciate the information and all the effort that you and the other mods put into keeping these forums a great and friendly information source.

I was trying to get more information and I guess I found it elsewhere.

from what I gathered was the early model RX7 with the G code on the vin has this feature, in this picture here are two S4 vin Plates the one on the bottum is from the one with red digits and the top one is from an S4 GXL and as you can see it has the H code. So my hypothesis is that G code cars came with this.

Mine has G and it has white numbers. G = 1986.

G=1986 model
H=1987 model
J= 1988 model
Etc

Ummm, this is clearly found in the FAQ for FC...

And it is a banning offense to insult or attack a moderator, so I am assuming that you are just as clueless to names as VIN numbers and model years when you call me Dick instead of Mark.

Would these faces only work with non-ABS equipped cars? Since they were all 86, and ABS wasn't until 1987.5..

The clock warning panels have a bunch of different versions. For the 86-87.5 cars I only have clock warning faces for the US spec Fan controlled and standard faces. I don't have any with orange clocks for the ABS 86-87.5 equipped cars (probably because they didn't exist in North America as the orange clocks stopped in 86 and ABS didn't start in north america until 87).

You should probably note that Mazda discontinued the Orange clock face and Orange Odometers due to them being harder to see, and that the orange clock blended in with the orange warnings in the clock warning panel, instead of having the orange or red warnings really stand out and catch your attention, because they were a different color than the clock

12802#

Not sure on the last number because I kinda dropped my wallet in the rain (not so good for anything paper involved).

So... it's past your number. Wan't a cookie?

Like Icemark said, it was on the earlier 86's. So, if you have a low vin, it would make sense. However, it basically has nothing to do with the "G".
