Not your USUAL NA to Turbo question
my friend is getting rid of her stock turbo setup on her 96 talon tsi (front wheel drive...bleh!)...she told me i could HAVE her turbo, piping, intercooler, and bov...what would i need besides a turbo manifold and downpipe made to get thise up and running...my friend is a machinist, so i could have him make the turbo manifold out of my racing beat header...but what else would i need to get her stock turbo up and running in my 90 gtu?

Its a Mitsubishi TD-05. Too small.
The Intercooler is too small.
The piping is basically usless.
You could probably use the BOV.
Youd need a custom manifold for the turbo.
Your more than welcome to try it though.

Physically, It could easily work, but the turbo is too small (as everyone else said) to be very effecient over 3000-4000 rpms. Intake temps would be sky high, and that intercooler wouldn't cut it.
I suppose you could get the turbo upgraded with a different compressor wheel, like a hybrid, but I'm not an expert on that by any means.
Thats might cost $200 (please don't quote me on that) but if it's doable, and the turbine housing itself can flow enough air, than you have a nice cheap turbo setup. The whole turbo overall might just be too damn small though.
The BOV's from the 1g DSM's are actually very good, but the 2nd gen ones aren't so good- but still usable.
Wouldn't you need to make a custom manifold too?

I dunno muuch about turbo size, but u will also need(if u r NA now) Injectors, ECU, MAP sensor, Wastegate unless turbo has one, Different intercooler piping, different intercooler, Intake snokle. I'd say go all motor n carburate it or buy a turbo motor
