It shouldnt be at 3k for that long, it should only shoot up for a second or two (little smoke is fine) then drop to 1500 and gradually go down until its fully warmed up at 750.

it depends how long u let it sit cold. when i go overnight, the next day itll go about 5 seconds then drop. but if was driving then had lunch then started the car again, it would go for a sec or 2 then drop.

The white puffs could indicate the seals are going. That's quite a bit of miles and this is usually about the time. It goes away after a bit though because they heat up and expand. I'm sure that's what you are experiencing.

yes, it is normal forit to rev up to 3k. It is a little rough on the motor so just tap the gas pedal a bit to idle it down to 1.5k rpm right away. High mileage motors will smoke a bit on start-up also, no big deal, it is also normal.

If you start the car with the shifter in gear, but the clutch depressed, you override the cold start system, and it idles immediatley.
