Exclamation Noob searching for an Rx7

Well, like I said i'm a noob in Rx7 i don't know anything about mechanic, but i'm a big fan of this car (version 4, 1986-1989 or even the version 5 1989-1992 ) I'm aware that it's an old car with a lot of problems but i still want one, its an oportunity to learn mechanic a the same time. Anyway, i want to know what car will be the best for a 18 years olds, who doesnt know mechanic, with a little budget about 1000-2500 $ at most. of course I know that it consume a lot of gaz and the cost for the insurance is pretty higth... well thx for those who respond me i really really appreciate

PS: i'm french, so my english sucks sorry..

first of all, its series 4 and series 5. the years were 86-88 and 89-91. Not a big deal, but thats what everyone else calls it. There were turbo2 models from 1987-1992, 1986 didnt have one. I think a good option for an unexperienced mechanic (noob) is a NON-turbo. Turbos will be a hassle if you do not know what you are doing and dont have anyone to teach you. being a 'mechanic' really isnt hard at all, just make friends with someone who knows what they are doing and can teach you. good luck!

You can pick up a good s4 n/a for about 2k. As far as insurance, mine actually dropped abotu $20 a month. I used to drive an 89 lincoln towncar. With a vehicle this old I would recommend having a back up car to use just incase the worst happens.
