noob forum questions
what is an "s4" or an "s5"?
whats "FC" stand for?
sorry for the noob questions, but i am new to the forum and am proud to say im picking up my first rx7 tomorrow, an n/a86 rx7...bone stock from orignal owner.yay.

these questions are covered in the FAQ stickied up top.
the 2nd (1986-1991)generation rx-7 you are buying has a chassis code. that chassis code is 'FC3S.' similarly the 3rd generation (generation after your car) is the "FD3S".
within the years for the FC there were two sub generations that different from each other slightly. the earlier version, of which your 86 is a member, is the s4 - series 4 i guess. ones manufactured after a certain date had some design revisions and are known as the s5.

there is more info concentrated in here than just about anywhere else, including a good dictionary for translating forumspeak.
