Noob with FC<-- Help
I have been doing some research on rotary motor. Over the pass few years, my brothers and I have always been isolating with our Toyotas. Of course the famous 13b has come to our mind when one of us was left out with no vehicle.
Now, I have come to understand that the 2nd Gen. Rx-7 comes with N/A and turbocharged, recently, I just heard about supercharged, but I'm not sure. Yes indeed these motors are very interesting compared to the Inline six and 4ag(s), although it's not what we're familiar with, I do have to say, it has potential.
I've been searching for spec and before I actually going to recieve this vehicle in the next month, I just want to know a few things.
This 13B Fuel Injected is a Naturally Aspirated, the year of 1990, black 5-speed Convertible. I think from what I've known, this car produces 160 or 140hp.
But really, my question is?
Do the convertibles come with stock LSD? It'll be fun driving around town with a convertible than a hardtop/coupe. And yes, the setup of this Rx-7 is initially for drifting, if not, autocrossing.
Now, for the performance side, Shall I keep the N/A Setup for more power in the higher revolution, or should I go straight for the TURBOII setup to produce mass hp when encountering suchSR20s and other cars such as the 7mgte(supra).
Now I bought this car for just 800. Everything runs perfectly fine, just needs a new battery and some general car maintenance.
Thank you.
-Tom
Please give me some input on this vehicle. I have great love for Toyota, but have great respects to the RX- Classes.

Banned. I got OWNED!!!
You're already way ahead of the game, since you can form legible sentences. ![Smilie](https://www.rx7club.com/images/smilies/smile.gif)
1. S4 = 86-88 and S5 = 89-91 (you'll hear these alot)
2. S5 motors produced roughly 160hp to the flywheel, which translates to ~145whp.
3. Convertibles did not come with LSD.
4. N/A makes slightly better low end power, but the TII is probably what you're after.
5. If you can afford a rebuild, you might wanna look into some porting while you're at it.
6. Sounds like you got a good deal!![bgth](https://www.rx7club.com/images/smilies/biggthumpup.gif)

Don't get me wrong, the N/A is a great car, but it wasn't built to go fast in a straight line.

Thanks
I really appreciate all the greetings and welcoming.. It's a pleasure among drivers who appreciate and respect others. It's harder for someone like me who is at the bottom of the "list" but I do have to say, thank you for all those who appreciate us "new guys". Likewise, it is an honor to be a part of the forum.
So finally, I just got the car today and ran into the "smogging/registration" situation.
Well, the car worked great but needs a few maintenance. Sucks though, I didn't pass smog because the car didn't show an engine check light, lol, it just occured to me that the guy probably didn't see the light in the middle portion. But it could be something else...
Well, off to bed. Long day of work and a new day for the FC to start tomorrow. By the way, although it's a convertible alright, I do think any car can do anything as long as the driver's is able to put their heart and effort into it. It's all about passion even if we're NEWBIES! =P Thankx for the support =D Maybe there can be some slight chances that I will invest in turbo.. but what the heck it's worth it =D
Again, thanks to to guys to actually appreciate.
Night all..

+ 1 for a kewl newb!
If you have any aspirations of going fast in a straight line, you'll have to abandon the N/A or there will be some crazy porting and a stand alone in your furture.
Whatever you do, just remember that on old cars, suspension upgrades go a looooonnnngggg way

That's correct! Going in long distance is going to be difficult, but hey, it's the sideway that I'm interested in. And suspension is going to be a "heck", but =D what can I say, it's experience that keeps the motivation going =P
By the way, I'm from Merced California young_gunner
