no power when sideways?

alright, just got my S5 took it out sliden for the first night on thursday. all is good and well, except whenever i get sideways, or attempt to do a doughnut power cuts COMPLETLY like i have no gas...car dosnt die, still runs, just no power untill i let off the gas, give it about 1 second, and then its back up.

Any ideas? is something grounding out that shouldnt be? problem with fuel pump? If im just driven normal i have no problems, just when i get sideways or start pushen on the g scale side to side.

The fuel is most likly sloshing away from the fuel pickup. American Drifting=gay if you say you can drift you better not touch that damned side brake.

its most likely the in tank fuel filter. (there might be a more appropriate name for it) could also be the baffling in the fuel tank, it may have deteriorated.

the owner of this site ryan said hes never heard of this baffling inside the tank, so i know its not that, he thinks.. it could be a fuel pickup, the slider could be sticking up high and wont go lower

I thought there was baffling

eve when hard conering the fuel will still move away from the pickup. Like NOPR said it could be baffling or your in tank filter. Although if it was the filter wouldnt it want to do that all the time. Just a thought.

Hmm I really thought there was baffleing in these tanks. Oh well just dont listen to me then.

i hardly ever use my e-brake. not good with it. As for american drifting.. im sorry? its true that americans arnt anywhere near as good as any of the kids in japan. But i do it for fun. thats about it.

so you think its prolly clogged in-take fuel filter? happens even after i had put 20 bucks in. i'll try fillen it all the way up and see if it still persists. or just wait untill i get a walbro255. I suppose this could make sense seeing as how i know somethens wrong, my fuel guage dosnt work.

Thanx for the replies.

My engine cuts out when turning, but there is plenty of gas... whats wrong?
Fuel tank sock is dirty and needs to be cleaned or replaced, and or the baffles in the fuel tank are rusted away.

This is a quote from the FAQ. I hope it'll help.

I find it hard to believe that he would say this.
But he's wrong...
There is a sump built into the stock gas tank.
We just went over this recently.

Dude, he's wrong.
hIGGI's got pics of a stock FC gas tank cut open.
It's obvious there's a sump at the bottom of the gas tank, and there is at least ONE vertical baffle on one side of the gas tank.

I will qoute the drift bible on this type of **** "Its ok to use the side brake if your starting out" so hes basically calling everyone on the drift circuit in America a noob because thats all they use to drift.

American Drifting = the suck

And what happened to the brake light on the fron of the car and the single runs were it was complete style and speed not this I beat you around 3 turns with a American car with triple the power. WOW SO EXCITING. Not.

The majority of the japan drifting population is better than the majority of the american drifting population. maybe its because they've been doing it a lot longer, or the fact they can just block off streets or mount roads to go drifting.

Im not saying all americans suck at drifting, at all. but by you saying "american drifting = suck" Not ALL american drifting is nothing but sidebrake. I would agree that the setup they use is pretty stupid. when i go sliding, i go mountain running I dont have any sanctioned events close to me here. and i dont drift to be pro. i drift because i like it, its thrilling to me to drift race my friends up or down hills.

If there was a drift track that was close and not 120 bucks a day. id prolly be more inclinded to go there on ocasion. but i dont know many drift tracks that are close, and NONE of wich have touge runs.

perhaps i said my last post wrong, the majority of the people drifting in japan are better than the majority of the people drifting in america. And by kids i mean people ages 16-24. because localy thats ALL i see drfting.

Got_traction? : are you mad that drifting is blowing up in america? and mad that people want to do it. and attempt to do it at non-sanctioned events? for 1. theres very few events to go to just to practice. and 2. if that was ALL the practice they ever got at sanctioned events...it will be a no brainer that american drifting will always be crappy.

you can watch drift bible and all that, but even as the drift king himself says you should go out and practice the things he teaches untill you've mastered all of his steps. sanctioned events arnt the best places to go practice.

Saunders here has master everything about mountain driving. I cant be beat in anything around here. I AM A MACHINE. Mountains is all I drive. Maybe its because I live on one. Up hill my weapon of choice is my corsica. 85 up my hill is saying something, and I can do it. And american drifting = teh suck. Plain and simple. Ill try to make a vid of me driving one day if I feel like it.

I AM THE NEXT TAKUMI DAMNIT.
