No power to car, blown fuse found

Alright, so I've just got a simple question here. I blew out the main fuse on my car, which is the 80A fuse in the engine bay that sits with ignition, headlight, and a couple other fuses. What can I do to replace this fuse besides buy one off another RX-7? It's a different kind of fuse it looks like since it was bolt into the fuse block. Thanks for your help!

I believe other Mazda's around the same year range also used these fuses. You can get them from a yard, from the dealer, from members with too many parts cars crowding up their property

You *can*, in a pinch, simply break the cover off the fuse and twist the two large leads together to make contact.....however this should NEVER be used as a permananet fix as having no fuse in place CAN result in damage to many electrical components as well as a possible fire if condidtions are right (or wrong I suppose hehe).

I already know what blew out the fuse. I accidently touched the alternator power wire to the water pump and shorted it out. My guess is that's probably what did it. I guess I'll just buy another fuse from a member on here to make sure that I get the right one.

I thought the 80A fuse was the same type of fuse as the other fuses in that same box. If it is you can get a new one for ~$3 at any auto parts store. Other sources might have them in bulk for ~$0.25-$0.50 each, but you'd have to buy a whole pack of them.

Don't shunt it with a wire, except maybe if you use properly rated fuse wire. That's just asking for trouble.

Decided to just buy one from a member on here. The fuses cost about 6 bucks from an auto parts store, not to mention that they don't actually carry them in the store and they need to be ordered. Best to just make sure I get a stock replacement one.

Advance didn't have a 80A fuse listed on their website and that you had to order it, but they ended up having it.
