My whole kit is a the Corksport Border II, then I cut the front to allow different lights. I also strengthened it since it was a little thinner that what I wanted in some spots. Here is another pic of one of my light housings with the latest mirror walls to make it look more OEM when the lights are in it.

.....And finally this is probably going to be my color it is called Crystal Blue and comes on the new Altimas (obviously).

Sorry, but I don't sell these, I just made some for my own car and want to share the learning experience. The real fun is making them yourself and knowing that you will have something other people can't just buy and bolt on their car.

Tonight I finally primed the spoiler, hood and front bumper and my bodywork was pretty good, just a few pinholes to take care of. I thought for sure there would be a bunch of low spots and waves.

One thing I learned is that using REAL eurothane primer is way better than that spray can crap. some dried on my glass mixing cup and I thought it would take a chisle to get it off. The only problem is that you have to clean the gun like you are going to return it to God himself because one drop of paint left behind and the gun will be an expensive paperweight.


P.S. I wish I could see that innocent blue mica in person to see if I like it better than crystal blue but I have never seen a blue FD like that yet. And I won't use a color that I have not seen in person in bright sunlight.

can you do a write up or something on how to make the RE Aemimya i have made stuff out of fiber glass and carbon fiber before so it might not be to hard to make my own because you don't sell them

Any ideas about what you're planning to do about the turn signal yet? I've been eyeing cars w/ HIDs for the past couple of days now. Trying to come up w/ a solution for the lack of space to accomodate a turn signal (one that is larger than the one RE-A has).

dude from the pictures isn't he keeping the turn signals in the same spot they always are on the kit he is modifying? The Re-Amemiya kit moves them not his I think.

Yeah. He is basically only utilizing the sleek light portion of RE-A's kit.

But, I will be running the full RE-A kit, and am currently trying to come up w/ a "better" solution for the actual headlights and turn signal. I like the use of the Audi headlights so far, but need to come up w/ a solution for RE-A's turn signal.

you are getting the RE-A kit and are thinking of putting the audi headlights and different turn signals in there??? Isn't that gonna cost like 4 grand even if you do all the work and **** yourself? I thought some one said those audi headlights alone cost 1000 and jonequest got lucky that a autobody place was nice to him and gave him free stuff.

I'm trying to find a "better" lighting solution than what it currently has. From my understanding (from people who have the kit), the lighting is okay. Not great, but there is interest in a better solution.

And, if I can modify OEM headlighting to fit the kit, then I can enjoy both HID and high beams. Also, OEM HIDs have proper beam cutoff. That way, I don't end up blinding people. The only problem would be to figure out a solution for the turn signals....

I've already spent quite a bit on the complete buildup of my car. And at the current rate, I may as well go for broke...

well I don't know too much about the internal workings on the RE-A kit but I remember reading some where that the lights shine in the correct place for a right hand drive car, so if you use them here in the states they are acctually shining in the wrong places. Maybe adjusting that **** will help the problem, and you don't need to drop another 1-2 grand on an already awesome kit. If you are set on getting HID lights thne you might just stick with the kind of ket jonequest was fabing up cause his solution will be a heck of a lot cheaper than modding the RE-A kit

also the turn signals aren't all that important in the front. Hell the majority of the people I see on the road haven't even figured out cars come with turn signals in the first palce.

if you want a cheap way to "get rid" of your pop up lights, simply pop out the clear lenses in the front bumper cover, and then unplug the harness to the pop up head light motor, and then adjust your head lights. Its really simple and it looks a hell of a lot better to not have the pop ups when your out racing at night...(the lights look cool too at night, they have a viper slit eyed look to the [viper as in snake, not the big domestic ****])

I have seen that but IMO the RE-A kit style lights look a a lot better but with a price that is a lot worse on the wallet.

Hi guys, I am glad I got a discussion on doing something fresh started. By the way people are talking about $$$, I happened to have some leftover money from selling my last project car that I finished and was tired of (86 Conquest TSI turbo). Anyway I paid like $800 for the full Corksport kit. after that it has only been a few bucks here and there on fiberglass, bondo and other crap. It does not take a lot of money to do this stuff, BUT it will take a lot of time. So if you want it just get some fiberglass and play around a bit. after a while you will start having all kinds of ideas of what you can do.

In other news I have finally gotten my car ready for paint. these pictures are from last night and tonight I also have it all wet sanded. Tomorrow I will do my own underhood, undertrunk, jams, etc. and If I seem competent I will try to shoot the rest of the car myself. If not then I will have to find someone who will shoot the outside for me the right way. I have FINALLY picked a paint color, it is Cloissone Blue a.k.a. Admiral Blue. It was a color used on the special edition Grand Sport Corvette. It is a very deep blue that has a purple glow on some angles. The formula has two kinds of blue, blue pearl, and violet pigments, and just dash of yellow, dunno why but it's in there. I will post pics as soon as I get a chance to of some painted parts like my M3 blinker mirrors, rear spoiler and stuff like that.

Yes my mirrors have holes........ it's for the blinkers.


The blue hanging ratchet straps are what helped me remove the doors by myself, it made it a snap actually.

P.S. I love Monster Garage, but on a "best of" show, I saw Jesse go military on a FC vert like mine.....actually it started out way nicer than mine, and it pissed me off a bit. Am I the only one?

Awesome, but I thought you were going to paint it silver?

That episode pissed a lot of rotorheads off, actually. There were a lot of threads about it at the time. I have it on my hard drive if you want a copy
