No Fuel ~ HELP!!!
OK, I am driving myself nuts trying to figure it out.
It started the other day when my daughter parked her 87 RX7. When she got up the next morning to go somewhere, it would not start.
Well, it was not getting fuel, so we first checked the fuses, all good.
Then we checked the fuel pump, looked nasty so we replaced it, however, still no fuel.
We then jumpered the yellow plug to make sure that we were getting voltage back to the fuel pump, yep voltage and it runs. But still no fuel.
You can spray starting fluid and it starts right up. I thought maybe the ECU, replaced it and still does not run.
I also checked the MAF and the CAS.
It acts just like the injectors are not working.
Can anyone out there help with this problem?

Just what I thought at first, however, it is good as gold. Even replaced it with another to make sure. I really did not doubt my multimeter, but sometimes fuses can fool a person.
I also checked all the engine bay fuses, course if any of them would have been bad then it would not start with the starting fluid.
Anything else???

When I first got the car, I checked all the grounds and added a few new ones. But at this point I am willing to check them again.
I do have a few small vacuum hoses that are bad (bloated and loose) but nothing major.
I am really at a loss here.

How did you check the air flow meter or MAF as you called it? If the air flow meter (AFM) sends a signal to the fuel pump when the flapper door is pulled open. If this signal isn't sent, the pump won't operate.
When you turn the key all the way forward (but don't crank the engine) do you here a click from under the hood? It should come from the main engine relay on the driver side next to where the fender meets the firewall.
Also, there is a relay under the dash, just above the steering column. Its for the fuel pump. There is a procedure for checking that in the factory service manual. If you don't have it, you can get it at www.fc3s.org Each chapter is a PDF file. Free to download if you don't already have it.

Sorry. I didn't read your post very well. If the pump runs....then the ENGINE fuse has to be good.
We assume that you left the jumper in the fuel check connector and tried to start the car?? Probably.
We know the cas is good because the engine started. The cas is the thing that makes the injectors work also. One should have followed the other.
How about pulling a injector off and seeing if there is 12v approx on one of the two wires at the injector? It does not matter which injector...primary or secondary...just see if there is 12v on one of the wires.
Apology for mentioning the Engine fuse. DArn if I know what it is. If you have not tried starting with the jumper in the fuel check connector....try that

If you take it to a place like Jiffy Lube and use your starting fluid trick to get it up and running they have a way of cleaning the injectors and fuel system and fuel filter without removing the filter. Also make sure the fuel system is pressurizing correctly otherwise you could just be attempting to pump vapors in there if it is hot. I'm not sure whether the Jiffy Lube's injector cleaner can eat at apex seals, just find their manager and ask. Be sure your exhaust is clear before doing the injector thing, otherwise all the crap you flush out will build up in your cats. Post on the Ohio forums to see if anyone around there will help you take a look at it.

Update: I still have not gotten it running, but I am cleaning up some parts.
Hailers, I did try to start it with the fuel pump plug hardwired, no go. I then read where someone had a problem with dirt clogging up the injectors. I took them off, and they had some grit in them. I cleaned them out, put it back together, but still no run.
I will check for voltage on the injectors this afternoon
Again, I can spray starting fluid and it will start. I am getting gas at the fuel rail also.
I also replace the AFM (not the MAF ) with another
known good one and it still refuses to run.
I replaced the ECU with a known good one, but you know the answer, no running.
I am a very patient person, but at this point I am thinking about going postal on it more and more.

It's really hard to believe the injectors went bad just like that.
You know you have fuel because you hear the pump and evidently opened the fuel rail bajo bolt or whatever and saw spray. If not then pressure the system with your jumper and the key to ON and crack a banjo bolt on the rail. I think you've done that already.
You know that the cas is good because it fires the starter fluid.
And I just looked at the schematic. You SHOULD have 12v at the injectors because the same source of power is used for the ignitors/coils. Its the black/yellow wire.
So with 12v at the injectors, the ECU should be pulsing a ground to the injectors on the other wire at the injectors.
I think I'll drop out. Got me. Especially if you have 12v at the injectors.
Can't be the Main Relay because it passes the 12v to the coils.
You have not for some reason recently had the two fuel lines off the engine and reconnected them, have you? If they are hooked up *** backward the car won't start.
Got me.
