You want to go with a good set of headers (like for example Racing Beat). Then a midpipe (again RB or perhaps Bonez) then the fun part which is picking your catback. There are a huge selection of great catback systems. Personaly i have an Apexi N1 and i really love it. It has a geat tone to it and its relitivly cheap and really easy to install.
The main deciding factors are:
1. Dual or single. Dual will be more expensive but look and sound really good. Single will be lighter and cheaper but (for some) not look as "cool"
2. Price
3. Brand. I think many ppl are partial to a certian brand and have more trust in them.
As far as power your going to gain a hell of a lot with any of these systems and the diffrence in single to dual is not too significant in an N/A so i wouldent worry too much about that.
Just too let you know some good places to get these kinds of exaust components.
www.rx7store.net has great prices, www.rx7.com , www.corksport.com are just some. But also check in here in the for sale sections there are lots of good stuff plus a good prices.
Goodluck.

AH! another MI 7 owner.

If I were you, I'd simply buy the headers, you can easily get parts made up at a shop, and you just bolt them on, if they wont.

I say buy the RB header and then just use a straight pipe.

I suppose you're kidding. You'd be able to hear him 3 states over.

Hey neat stuff you race in Pro 7... I hear that series is fantastic value when it comes to fun for the money. They let you run with absolutely no muffler system?! I can't imagine what a field of 25 unmuffled 12a's must sound like.

RB Header and true duals all the way back... no mid or collected pipe.

Mazdatric claims typically a 28% RWHP increase with that type of system.

System design is dual pipe all the way from the engine to the rear bumper, uncollected. Headers are dual outlet with modifications done for 6-port actuation and oxygen sensor. Twin pre-silencers and both mufflers are included,

Turbo needs a downpipe instead of a header, true dual will be pointless unless you want to split the downpipe with a small y to keep the remainder of the dual system.

You'd better decide now on what you're doing NA or TII, so you don't waste a bunch of money with NA exhaust components.
