They come in different colors to coordinate with your interior colors. Only need to remember to flip it up when sliding forward the passenger seat.
Big enough to hold hold your super big gulp, deep enough so it won't tip over while you're driving the twisty's, not so big that it cramps passenger leg room, doesn't get in the way of shifting of radio controls as the center consol slide out set ups do, costs about $5, allows the pretty lady sitting next to you to keep her hands free for any other ideas she may have, and it "almost" looks stock.

I dont know who has it in their car, but they utilized the cup holder/coin tray from older Ford models, like mid 90's Taurus'.
Apparently it fits right into the radio slot.

all you have to do is open the bins in the back and make sure you have some sort of moisture barrier like a small tarp, fill it with ice, then stick your drink in there, viola cup holder and cooler

akademiks, nice avatar...
Anyway, no cup holders just makes for some tricky "switch hand" shifting. But i think i've only had a drink in my car once. I hate drinking stuff while driving in any car, cuz of all the head tilting and stuff. Distracting as hell

you you gais wanna be really cool, you can rip apart your armrest and cut a hole in it, then refoam it and put it back together. you might understand better if you actually took it apart first.

akademiks who is that chick in your avatar?
as long as you are just cruising around and not doing any spirited driving, holding a drink isnt all that hard
easiest sollution = get a girlfriend and make the bitch hold it, this option can be pricey though but does comes with fringe benefits

I removed my factory double din radio out of my 88 Vert and got a single unit Kenwood. I then went to a junk yard and got one of those sliding double cup holders out of the dash of a 91- 94 Nissan Sentra or you can use one out of a Protege. I then got the small under the radio pocket that is on a rx7 with just the regular factory radio (not the ones with the cd option). All this stuff screws into the two metal brackets that hold the radio in place and in the dash. Now I have a factory looking very sturdy dual copholder that works like a charm, and a small pocket to fill the extra space that can be used for gum or loose change...

yeah the convience of a cupholder when going through fast food is a good thing. If i decided to be "prepared" i would take on of those smallish flexible coolers, get a gel ice pack and put it in the little comparment thingy behind the passenger seat and proceed to fill with refreshments. It closes and it would be a little cooler. Perfection. Now the fact it locks can lead to other things as well...crazy japanese.

Yeah, you can find the ones from a Taurus, Sable, or Saab all the time on eBay. From what I understand you can use them in the lower din of the double din stereo space. There is a picture out here of Icemarks and it looks very clean. I forget where it is, but if you do a search for headrest speakers, it's in one of these threads. That's how I stumbled upon the picture.
I originally saw this done on the old Convertible RX-7 page

Ironically it was in a member's car by the name of Mark Fisher.
