No compression

hey, i was doing a compression test today on a 88 gxl i jus bought and the trailing rotor had 0 compression. Is it possible to have 0 compression and if so do you guys know what might be causing it...? thanx in advance. Oh and i did the poor mans test also and i couldnt hear shiat. so yah.....

it can have 0 compression and most likely bad apex seals

if you get zero compression all around, and no poofs or noise out, of that rotor, then apex seal failure is allmost 100%, the motor is blown, sorry to give the bad news if you didnt see it coming...

would you please tell me how to do that poor man's compressino test? I saw it on a site & it's not up there now. we're working on our 85 rx7 w/ 13b turbo. thanks!

pump a few squirts of MMO in both leading plug holes and do the unflooding procedure to try and fire it up. it is possible the seals are just sticking so running the engine is the only possible method of freeing them up.

^My line of thinking. How long has it sat?

You can take the exhaust mani off and examine the apex seals through the exhaust port.
