it doesn't yield more HP....it frees up more of the engine bay and it it less stuff for the motor to have to work......better torque? minimal gains in the HP dept.

the ac compressor has a clutch so it only runs when it's turned on if everything is working right. The power steering on the other hand is running all the time causing parasitic loss as steviep. By removing them, you free up a couple hp, clean up the engine bay a bit, and save some weight, especially if you remove all the ac components.

A/C only draws a significant amount of power when it's switched on. P/S only draws a significant amount of power when the wheel is being turned. The rest of the time the "parasitic losses" are minimal, and certainly not noticable.
The biggest advantage to removing these is weight reduction, but you need to weigh up whether that's worth losing them. Some won't care, others will. The actual increase in performance is not going to be that much.

Also it makes things a lot simpler. If I recall the AC has tons of lines and hoses coming out of it and ripping all that out makes it look a lot neater and easier to work on. I don't think it increases HP/TQ from ripping it out.

SUPERnaturally Aspirated
plus there is a slight reduction in rotational mass, which frees up a little power. but removing a/c p/s and smog pump (the whole systems) will give you a clean bay and shave a lot of weight.

Removing the smog pump, is bad idea if you are gonna get the car to pass emissions. Because, well, it never will without that magical pump.
But, I suppose you can take it off, and put it on again when it is time for emissions.
Illigal, and bad for the greens though.

Never use my A/C unless I am on the highway, then it makes up for it. You use more gas with the windows down than with the A/C on. The variable powersteering is kick ***, however mine seems to come on at weird times. Causing me to overcorrect.

100? i keep wondering if i did something wrong in removing my ps cuz it only weighed 17 lbs when i took it out.. the ac as well where i only got 33 lbs... ppl on the forum keep claiming 50 for each of those, but i dunno where they get that from

yo
i would think the second biggest advantage with removing air pump/ac/ps would be that there are less belts to wear, and way less stuff to break.less fuses to blow. of course il make my final decision on the ac when the heat hits this summer.
