Nice T2 on Ebay Looks extremely clean

Whats up guys. Take a look at this T2 on Ebay. It looks extremely clean but 9500.00 ouch. I'd rather spend another 1000.00 and get an FD. Don't get me wrong i love my FC but I'd rather buy it and restore it myself. Buying the car already fast takes all the fun and the learning out of it. Just passing along what I've seen

$6000? **** man... you can't even find a Series 5 TII for less than $5000 (except Vosko). That car is EASILY worth $9,500 and honestly, I'd rather have that car than a 3rd Gen.

Consumer Rated Condition: Excellent
"Excellent" condition means that the vehicle looks great, is in excellent mechanical condition and needs no reconditioning. It should pass a smog inspection. The engine compartment should be clean, with no fluid leaks. The paint is glossy and the body and interior are free of any wear or visible defects. There is no rust. The tires are the proper size and match and are new or nearly new. A clean title history is assumed. This is an exceptional vehicle.

Private Party Value $4,025
Private Party value represents what you might expect to pay for a used car when purchasing from a private party. It may also represent the value you might expect to receive when selling your own used car to another private party.

Then you add in the fact that its been heavily modded which usually takes away from the actual value of the car.

That car is worth every penny of 9 grand. You're insane if you think you're going to get a well-built Haltech'd, T-66'd S5 TII for 6 g's. I think fast13b would be offended.

WELL worth 9k! I am going to have more then 9k into my 10AE very shortly ... and its still not done OR is it 400HP, and no haltech. anyone that thinks this car is not worth that cash has never built one of these from the ground up. It cost a shitload more than 9k to do it right. ... now he says he spent 25k, thats a bit extreme.. but maybee he did I can see it.

Hey guys don't get offended I am not saying it wouldn't cost more than $9000 to get an equal car. I am saying that its not worth $9000. Difference is blue book value, what people other than enthusiasts look at.

I hear what your saying .. but I still disagree. Blue book is a stock car. You can't put a blue book value on a car that modified. Nothing on that car is stock except the rear view mirror & the 2 rotors. I would not pay 9k for it.. cause I have 2 RX's and I would prefer to do the work myself, thats half the enjoyment. But to someone looking for a "pre modded" car .. hell ya.

Ya I see what your saying but I go the other way. A modded car is worth less to me. It means its been driven hard(or abused) in most cases. Not always though. Just the way I see it.

Its extremely nice and i'm sure its worth the price tag. However I think you'd have more satisfaction building up the car yourself. If you bought this car as is what upgrade would you possible perform??? 20b?? New Turbo?? I'm buying a T2 in the next couple months and i'm sure i'll invest more then 9500 and i'll have more knowledge in the end upgrading and working on it myself

Book value is pointless on older cars. Book value on my 10th ann when we bought it was 6,000. We paid 10 for it. The car had 18,000 miles on it and still had the factory wiper fluid in the hatch. When cars get to a certain age value is all based on condition. Basicly you get what you pay for. Also KBB is somewhat limited on the value. My girlfriends 86 volvo wagon with 385,000 miles said it was worth 3k....riiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiight.

A car is not a bank! Just because you put $ into mods doesn't make it worth that much more. The only $ you put in a car that will raise its value is $ spent towards improving the cars condition.
