newly turboed car WONT START. help
when i try to start it it acts as if its flooded. if i run through the deflooding routine. it sounds like it's going to go, then sounds flooded again. idk what to do...the plugs only smell faintly of fuel. thier is a HUGE sound of fuel going through the rails though. perhaps my secondaries are leaking or something. i gotta get it started tonight, i gotta be back to school....

so, it started, for like 2 seconds, i replaced my 720 secondaries with the old injectros, and it actully started, then died. prolly cuz i had the MAP unplugged and the intake elbow unhooked, my bad. now it wont start because the battery is going dead. jesus i suck.

Next time you get it started, hold the throttle a tiny bit to help it stay running. If you massively flooded the car or have big vac leaks, you'll need to keep it running until it warms up a bit.
Sure your idle isn't set too low now? I'm assuming you no longer have the actuators/sleeves in place, correct? You now have 6 ports open at idle instead of 4, your idle might not be set high enough to get or keep it started. Raise idle via the throttle stop screw.
Between that and being flooded, it's going to have a bitch of a time starting, plus once it does start it'll likely just die (as happened alredy). Also make sure you don't have any vac leaks!
Start by raising up the idle, going through deflooding again, charge the battery, and trying again. IF it starts, hold the throttle LIGHTLY to keep it running until it warms up a bit, then let go slowly and see if it stays running on its own. If it does, and the idle is awfully low, raise it more or adjust it as needed. After it's idling where it should be, reset TPS.

When I removed my aux port actuators/sleeves/etc for the first time, did the TB mod, and ported my manifolds it would not idle on its own. If I held the throttle until it was warm it'd idle at 500 rpms only. It'd stay idling of course when warm, but not cold. Obviously the TB mod and removal of thermowax causing cold idle to be harder, but the aux sleeve removal caused the idle to be much lower.
After it was warm and idling on its own, at 500 mind you, I raised it up to 800 and reset the TPS. After that, it'd idle, even when cold with TB mod, on its own.
Just my experience and .02, worth a shot to try.

thanks guys a hell of a lot. it did the same thing 2 more times. started and died after like 2 seconds. i just have the ports tied open with the actuators removed, so i will try raising the idle a little bit. tomorrow of course, im freakin frustrated. + the exhaust smells super funny. think maybe i crossed coolant and vac lines somewhere. the exhaust smells like "sick to your stomach" sweet. im all woozy and upset stomach from it now.
edit: plus, now that i know that my 2 720's need to be cleaned and mapped. can i safely run the car for a while with the stock secondaries in. its just gonna feel like i hit a wall at high rpm right?
