Question newbie with a question

i just got a 88' gxl. this is my first rotary and i am trying to do repairs and upgrades myself. i want the car to be faster and i have heard of a turbo swap. what exactly is this and do i have to do this for my car to be turbo; or can i just get a turbo kit and go from there. also will take any advice about upkeep for the car. car has 180,000 on it and runs well.

so are you saying i have to have another engine seperately that is turbo or are there parts that i put on my na engine to upgrade it to turbo. if i do need a turbo engine where can i get one for a reasonable price.

The turbo swap is probably the most common topic on this forum, and it is answerd in the FAQ. There are numerous writeups, and info should be easily located via the search feature.
