don't paint any part of the center cap black, it will look awful on the car!! grind down the mustang and paint it silver to match...it will look 100% better.

Personally iam against putting american parts on my Japanese car. Exspecially mustang wheels. Wheels are a very important part of how a car looks. Plus i think a rear drive car needs a wheel with a little lip. Wheels with out lips look like tacky tire rack alloy and make the car look cheap.
here is a pic of my car with my new wheels. the lip just makes the car look that much more aggresive

***** yeah. That **** looks sweet. I will think of using 'Stang GT rims. What tires are you running? I have ghetto setup. I have Yokohoma's up front(really nice, tons of tread), and goodyears in the back(no tread left). I never noticed it until today when I was pumping the tires up.
Thanks in advance.
Thanks in advance.

I also want to get some hub rings as well. I need to find the measurement for the mustang wheels center-bore, then I can call around and see if I can get a set made.
The offset is 24mm. 17x8

I'll see about posting some pics of them on my car once my tires arrive in mid April and I put the wheels on.

Black91n/a: are you sure about the offset? Ive always heard that they were 24mm...and I even asked on the mustang forums, and they all told me it was 24.. I sent you a PM also.

thats funny- i have tokicos too (shock and spring)
sounds like if you can fit a fingertip you can fit another 5mm per side... have you tried sticking the 255's in front? for curiosity sake.
btw, i'm not too worried about the fender rubbing. these tokicos are damn stiff!

245's do fit up front but they will scrape on the bumper if the car is lowered at all. They do stick out a little also. Can't tell really from a distance but up close you can tell. I had rubbing problems just driving down the road with 245/45/17 on my wheels before I sold. If your going to/lowered your car do not get 245's you will not be happy at all. You can't drive the car down the road without it scraping on little bumps. And it takes all the fun out of corning also.

I'd need to see them on the car like that if you can do that in photoshop too. heh
Sir Rupert Hobo your rims are nice! Did they come smokey like that or did you paint them? I especially like them without the center caps.

thanks, stupify actually painted them, so props to him!
one thing though. i guess they put the weights on the OUTSIDE of the rim from the factory, which is WRONG. they are suppose to be on the inside. so i had them put on the other side and their was paint missing from where the weights were at(you can make it out in my sig). so, i touched it up.
i'll have better pics though in a week(if i find the damn time). the wheels look better and the car sits low.

My two cents... That's one of the nicest Silver GXL's I've ever seen... Tough car, man - I'm jealous. I didn't even know that a GXL came in silver. Sharp wheels, etc... Kings to you.

......but on a more serious note, 17x8 is awesome, if your planning on tacking that to the track i bet you'll get really good handling. Jyst because mustangs don't handle well with tyhose wheels doesn't mean its the wheels, its the stang. Our cars will get anywheel and squeeze the maximum performance out of it (handling wise atleast) Kudos man.
