New Turbo Engine..

Yep.. got the deal today.... just bought a 13B from TII model.. J-Spec engine.. withg tranny, ecu and wireing harness...

2200$ with shipping..

now my question is... i wanna redo the exhaust when i get it... if i go and make a 3" downpipe and 3" exhaust in Stainless steel with a magnaflow racing muffler... will it be too big for the car ...?

and i wanna put a boost controller to hit at least 10psi.. no more..

and im doing a front mount intercooler setup..

Thanks r0k0

Don't know if they ship out side US but www.ssautochrome.com for dual exhuast turbo back its $575.00 USD but its NOT a ssautochrome exhuast its by a company called Motoria I happed to get the same exhuast on Ebay for $275 USD shipped. Its 3" then splits at the Y-pipe The Y back is 2.375" with big "mufflers". Sounds great on my '87 turbo.

Get the motor installed and running first, and then come back and ask us questions about everything else.

That J-spec harness is basically useless.
Are you going to mod / splice that harness to work with your US-spec chassis?
It's not drop-in.

Learn something, save some money, and install it yourself. Then you can fix things down the road.

yeah you got ripped for $2200, should have bought from Curtis from www.revvinsevens.com . The motor will have worked for sure, because he only sells quality parts.

I hope your coolant seals are good, i bought a jspec for 1900(i got ripped too) and the motor was bad. DONT BUY FROM www.jdmenginescorp.com

I got my engine for almost the same price in Montreal, imported from Japan.
My car was an s4 and the engine was s5 so the mechanic did everything but I had to order the driveshaft cuz the original was smaller. You can get that here:
http://www.mazdatrix.com/g9.htm

They make one that will fit perfectly.
Then I had issues with the wiring, everything is working but the plug that would go to the ECU that came with engine didn't plug in so I wasn't getting any fuel.
So I got an ECU from Microtech with ignition coils, turbo timer, dash unit, come with factory fuel map for the engine you tell them u have, the ECU is for my fuel and spark so this should work since that was all that was missing. If your mechanic wont do it then you can have it done were I'm getting mine done, plus you'll already have all the part needed, and he will know what he is doing since he is doing mine and it would be fresh in his mind. LOL he can't wait to see it leave, he's had it since April cuz I had to order parts and wait for them. This swap will have cost me almost 10K with all the buying stuff and paying my mechanic.

This is the single exhaust I got:
CorkSport 'Power Series' Turbo Back Exhaust (full system) -Turbo
http://corksport.com/store/category/...rx-intake.html
Here is a pic of it:

Yeah I have no clue if this make any sense cuz I lost my train of though cuz I had link to get and other stuff. If you have any questions let me know.

Is your car an s4 or s5 and is the engine an s4 or s5?
This will make a huge difference in how long it will take to wire. The swap will be about a day or 2 but wiring takes allot long if you mix like I did.

If the ECU is of the same series, yes.
You can't use the stock ECU controlled boost solenoid unless you rig it, but you don't need it with a big exhaust anyways.

New engine huh?

Don't even try to run more than 10 psi on the stock fuel system... unless you're looking to rebuild it on the hurry.
