New tires = new car!
Well, my car has had POS no name tires since I bought it. They were literally whitewalls turned inside. Well 2 of them were anyway, the other 2 didn't match. Just got me a set of Falken Azenis today. All I can say is WOW! These are by far the stickiest tires I have ever driven on. My car feels like a completely different beast. I went out and tried to break them loose, and could not get them to budge on public roads. Man, now I am really looking foward to that autocross next week. Only downside I noticed is they are a little loud on certain road surfaces. Also, they don't squeal a bit. Most people consider that bad since you can't hear them break loose, but I think it's good because you don't attract unwanted attention while cornering hard. Anyway, I prefer to feel my tires break away, rather than hear them break away.

I wouldn't recommend auto-crossing on new tires.
At the very least not until they have 500 miles on them so they have cycled a couple of times.
Driving hard on brand new tires is just asking for tread seperation or worse down the road.

Usually only really hard compound tires squeel. The higher the performance tire the noiser they are but the less they squeal. You can still hear soft tires when they start to break away, its just more of a scrubbing sound than a squeal.
