New Stereo System

New Stereo System - Pictures - Text
I got tired of the 4 inch speakers i had all around so i decided to upgrade a bit:
Panasonic MXE CQ-C7401U - http://www.crutchfield.com/S-SnNLnM5...display=XL#Tab
Infinity Reference 7541a - http://www.crutchfield.com/S-O06BSEH...display=XL#Tab
2 sets of Infinity Kappa 62.7i - http://www.crutchfield.com/S-IRWNaLc...display=XL#Tab
I figured this little system should hold me over till i get a subwoofer. =]
The Goods:
Head Unit Installation:
First order of business was the wiring harness. Fingers hurting after so much wire stripping and crimping of butt connectors, hah.
Stereo Kit all together and waiting for head unit:
Lets see if i matched all the wires together and got the antenna relay going:
Yes! and we have lift off.
A few shots of this beast installed:
Security light is the red light in the middle.
Stereo is flush.
Insert CD please.
Full Tilt.
I'm over all pleased with the unit. It gives a great show for passengers and the mp3 ability makes music selecting easy.
Rear Speaker Installation:
Old *** 4 inchers in the back. Jensens.
The kappas came with a mounting bracket so what i did was just cut slits into the old adaptor and hammered them under. I also made some new holes to screw the mounting bracket into the speaker adaptor.
Underside:
Top:
Speaker ready for installation:
Wahoo it works:
Amp installation:
I figured i throw it on top of a bucket.
Took the bucket out and cutting a new wood frame for the amp to go on. I'm gonna wrap the wood frame in carpet similar to the one already installed to give it a nice stock look.
I'll fill out the rest tomorrow. Turkey day is coming up tomorrow and i gotta help cook for 20+ family members, wahoo.

Cool. Later I'd maybe want new speakers in my car, but I'm not going to have a subwoofer. Need to find small speakers that still have good bass (hard though?) haha....
Ah.... Your stereo surround and all that looks good. Mine... doesn't. When I got my car the shifter surround was stolen along w/ the shift boot. The top of my surround was cracked. And recently when putting in a cd player the right side of it had several pieces break off.... ARG! hehe.

I have 6x9's on the cover (flip down door) of my rear bins, and they put out enough bass for me. Sometimes I listen to rap/hip hop, but mostly metal and classic rock.
I've also got upgraded 6.5's in the rear, and upgraded 4's in the front, driven by a nice 250w Rockford Amp. Currently the 6x9's and 6.5's are driven by the amp, previous owner did a hack job and stupid *** wiring job, but I plan on redoing all of it this winter, and making it exactly how I want.
