New to rotories, need help?!
Hi All,
Just found this site.
I've got a 1986 GXL, with about 90K miles on it.
Here's the problem; The car runs fine about 95% of the time. Then loads up and acts like it is only firing on 1 set of plugs. Sometimes I can simply floor the pedal and it will clear itself up, and run fine again, other times it will not clear up. Have to turn it off, wait a couple of minutes and restart--again will run for awhile then do the same thing---any suggestions? I also am having a hard time finding a good rotory mech. in the Cinti., Northern KY area--anyone know of one?
Thanks.

You need to see if you are getting any codes, first off...Do a search for "LED", "code checker", that kind of thing. Think there's also a writeup on making a code checker out of LEDs on TEAMFC3S.ORG, but not sure. Hopefully someone can link you to the site, because I know of at least a couple of us that have the LEDs installed in our cars. You could also try to read the sensors that might be responsible for your problems from the ECU while driving, if you are proficient with a multi-meter...

And, it could be something simple like a clogged fuel filter, spark plug wire so old & cracked up it's shorting, loose electrical connector, etc...
