Its your S-AFC!!!!! foreals cuz i HAD the EXACT same problem! I couldn't gas it to hold idle and i took it to the shop to have them tell me "your engine isn't getting gas" DUH!! He told me it couldve been the crank angle sensor, fuel injectors, AFM, yatta yatta. so when i went to pick my car up and get it towed i made sure all the settings on the S-afc where correct and i guess it has to be on "Hot wire" cuz thats what mine is i hope its the same fore you. THEN BAM!! i had an engine running and i can hold idle with gas. Drove it home and it wouldnt hold idle until after i changed my vacuum lines. She's back to beast status!!
I really hope this helps you.

its just wierd, cause i had this EXACT problem when my safc connections were loose ...
keep the carpet peeled back and keep fiddling with your AFM wire while trying to start it ...

Yah, i'll keep messing with it for a bit.
Like I said, I've disconnected the AFM wire from the SAFC and reconnected it like it was stock, so the SAFC shouldn't be doing anything right now other than displaying a throttle and rpm signal.
I did have a question about the SAFC though, there are 2 extra wires that aren't hooked to anything, and the manual I have doesn't say what they go to. They're the pink and orange wires.
Man this is frustrating, being so close and yet so far away!
Oh, one last question. There's a main ground that goes to the starter, than another main ground on the harness and it just goes to the block, right? My buddy connected it to one of the starter bolts so it's touching the block, so that should be good right?

Here's another question, I found this diagram which is slightly different than the one I was using before. It has a solenoid on the FPR line, which the other didn't.
Would that make much difference? Which solenoid is the diagram referring to exactly?
