New project s4 or s5 NA supercharge?
What do you think about a s4 or s5 na? Heres what im thinking.
New engine block ported (more hp from port)
SuperCharger from Camden superchargers (30-50% more HP over the entire rpms)
Light flywheel
street strip clutch
~250hp???
Will 1/4 mile time or accel be anything close to a turbo 2?

SUPER CHARGER INFO (15psi boost)
1974-1991 Mazda Rotary 13B engine - 7 inch Supercharger
Must specify Year and engine model for proper fitting of manifold

the whole thing i dont like about that supercharger is that its a throwback to 1960. Why would you want to put a carb on your engine? and that throttle body style injection is not much better. If I could some how get an empty supercharger housing from some vortech supercharger, i could see if i could make a bracket.

why wouldnt i want a carb? I mean if im getting 30-50% more hp PLUS a ported 13b, we should be seeing some pretty good/impressive figures on the DYNO and in real life situations. for what? $2,000 for the 13b, and $2,500 for the supercharger...

I've never messed with anything but FI but I have a friend who absolutely hates FI and will take anything with a carb, so I think it's really a matter of opinion.

Someone on this forum is running 14 flat with a streetported and modded n/a. I think with a supercharged and streetported FC you could dip into the 12s but you will need more mods to your car. Are you upgrading your fuel system aswell?? If not you will need to do that too.

Well in a few months I will be able to tell you all about the supercharger you are talking about on my current 88 GTU N/A.... I am working about 60 hours a week right now trying to get the cash to do it. My car is totally stock at the moment but I plan on getting a nice exhaust soon and then drop a bundle on that camden supercharger, Holley Carb, FI kit and all necessary upgrades. BTW I have read somewhere that the 88 GTU tranny is really the TII tranny? I was just wondering about how much tranny work I will need to do for this job. Hopefully I will make good friends with the RX-7 tech at the Mazda dealership here in Tampa who owns 3 second gen Rexxs and one 3rd gen Rex.....maybe he will help me port my engine and rebuild too =)!

I wish I was driving!
Daryll, you might be better off keeping the stock fuel injection and going with a centrifugal supercharger. (like the paxton or vortech versions).
They will follow almost all of the same power claims, and allow keeping of the stock FI for when you need to pass aircare.
If interested, give me an email at my shutup_billy account, or talk here.
You may also want to reconsider the lightweight flywheel, as your intetnions seem to be strip-orientated.
