Question New post for poss. Tie rod end probs.

I know someone already had a post dealing with this but I figured that I would get better results starting over. I have a vibration in my stering wheel somewhat similer to what the other post had. Only my vibration comes on at just above 70mph and only gets worse the faster I go. Now i had my front tires balanced and there was nothing wrong. I was also confermed of this when I rotated my tires front to back and the vibration was the same. Now I thought maby it was a bad wheel bearing so i replaced the fronts but its still there. In the other post you guys were telling the author that his problem might be his tie rod end, could that be my prob? Also i have a slight knock in the passenger side front break when its weat out and I step on the pedal moderatly to fermly hard no fade or any problems just sounds and feals scary . Any thoughts? I have an 86 SE with the single piston sliding front breaks calapers.

I've got the same knock on my driverside, which coicidentaly has a dieing ball joint. Makes sense if you think about it, the brakes try to slow the tire, the tire slows but the suspension has play in the balljoint, so the car moves forward until the balljoint bottoms out and makes a clunk.

Anyhow, Take it to an alignment shop and get the front end aligned. It will cost ~$30 or ~$60 for a 4pt alignment. If the balljoints are bad, they won't be able to do the alignment and will have to tell you btw.

Also couple of other things. I'm assuming you only replaced the one wheel bearing on the front hubs? There are two bearings there, one is a PITA "unreplaceabple" and cant be replaced without some pretty massive modding to the hub.

Also, if your balljoints are going, I hope you have an S4!
