New owner/Noob questions

Hey guys, So im going to buy an RX7 year 1988, it needs a mufller, radio, and a new battery. The car's asking price is $500 with 83k miles. I was wondering, it says 13B on it, does that mean its turbo? I dont want to buy it yet unless you experts recommand it. It just says 13B injector on the engine it self. I dont have the VIN number of the car, but i can find out. I just need some info on what you guys think. I'm planning on restoring it.

If i was to get the car, whats the max hp I can put on it? I want to drag race at the tracks and also prob do some street races and leave sti's and evo's in dust if possible

Well those are all the questions i got so far.

Pic's are listed below

Its not turbo. And the max hp you can get is not much on that beast.

No it is not turbo and if you want to make any kind of power out of an engine you should be able to tell.

actually, bhp for the 88 n down is 140 something, so to the wheels he's probably only hitting 110... Looks good for 500, even better if it started...

At the Flywheel ratings:
86-88 NA = 146 HP @ 6500 RPM w/ 138 Ft/lb @ 3500 RPM
86-88 Turbo = 182 @ 6500 RPM w/ 183 Ft/lb @ 3500 RPM
89-91 NA = 160 HP @ 7000 RPM w/ 140 Ft/lb @ 4000 RPM
89-91 Turbo = 200-202 @ 6500 RPM w/ 196 Ft/lb @ 3500 RPM
Infini IV = 215 @ 6500 RPM w/ 206 Ft/lb @ 3500 RPM

now thats stock as far as MAX it just depends on what you want to spend, if you get to high you will need new tranny.. new tranny means new driveshaft, and your rear end won't handle much there goes new driveshafts too... if you have money and want to hit 500 hp then i would go with a TII model

and you think 500 hp isn't much... yea dude its a 1.3 L that is like double the lb / hp ratio available to ANY piston engine.. plus the car weighs in under 3k (depending on model) and the handling is superior to others... so you will be more than good with 500 hp

and before you buy it do a compression test on both rotors... don't bother if its not good.. but i would get it just as a learner car... for 500 you cant go wrong and the na is a fun daily driver

damn its not turbo, is it possible to make it twin turbo? I dont know much about the car, but I'm from acurazine, a owner of a 04 TL and those can only have superchargers so turbo is kinda of like a new thing for me. If this is capable of having twin turbo i dont mind spending money on it since its only $500, I plan to restore it and sell it after.

Simple answer no. Can anything be done with enough money? Sure.

There are no turbo kits, not even single to turbo an NA. If you want a turbo either find a turbo RX7 or drop a whole turbo motor/drivetrain/ECU and all other required items into it.
