New owner needs help
so i basically buying an 87 turbo II tommorow afternoon. I test drove it and liked it alot but it's going to need a new clutch and i think a shifter. The stock shifter felt incredibly loose(nothing like the other 2 manual cars i drive, this thing is rediculous) and the clutch left much to be desired. Can you guys reccomend a clutch and flywheel and a good place to purchase it inexpensively. Also which short shifter should i purchase or is it simply a matter of tightening the stock one and purchasing some new bushings.
The car is very very straight and in immaculate condition other than the exhaust. Engine seems pretty strong considering the milage. It has a couple quirks but it is still a great car and a very good/fair price. I'll post pictures of it in a couple of days(before the weekend) and i'm sure i'll have tons of questions for you guys and i'll know to use the search function.
Thanks for reading!

The shifter just needs new bushings. If you want a short one (why?) then check Mazdatrix.
As for a clutch, the stock flywheel with an ACT clutch is a good setup. Try to avoid Centerforce, it seems people have problems with them.

Yeah, ACT seems to be the #1 choice out there for clutches, although there are a few others which are great as well, can't think of them off hand since I haven't started working on my car till this winter coming up.
Just wondering, how familiar are you with rotaries?
Don't bother with a short shift, put in bushings and it will be nice.
What's the mileage on the car? Did you have a compression test done? Is it the original engine?
Can't wait to see pics

well, i'll post again tonight to let you know if i actually am the official owner and should have pics up wednesday evening. it's all original, 83k miles. Very nice body and it was owned by an older gentelman and it is completely stock.
I'm excited, i have a wrx also and the wrx is much much faster than the fc but the fc has more potential and has more of a racecar feel to it. I am fairly familiar with the rotary engine and my friend owns an fd( is selling it on these boards, his name is redfd). I'm an engineer so i have a pretty high apptitude for these things so i think i can understand the relatively simply engine.
