New motor,been reving to 4.5 rpm.Have i damaged the motor.

New motor,been reving to 4.5 rpm.Have i damaged the motor.
The guy who installed the motor said not to rev past 5k.I only drive it on the weekends,becuse it's my wifes car.I know she hasn't reved it past 3.5 rpm's but i have a few times while driving on the weekends.Is this a bad thing?????

Not really, but if you continue to do so, then you might as well start saving for a new one.
And don't drive it like you stole it. Just give her some time to break in. You have to vary the loads, but NEVER give it more than 50% throttle while it's breaking in.

I haven't given it more than half throttle.Just reved it to about 4.5 rpms.I'll for sure not do it anymore.....
now if i could just get it to idle lower than 2k.

When manufacturers produce a new car they are not nice to it while they are testing it out. They beat on it to make sure nothing breaks. As such I'm guessing that if you've only done it a few times you should be okay.
