New engine blowing white smoke. HELP!
Just got a new 13bt for my 90 TII from atkins. My car is blowing heavy white smoke out the back from the exhaust. So I beleive that it is coolant getting into the exhaust. Ive been reseaching and came to the conclusion that its the coolant seals. My radiator hose are very limp and when i watch the filler line on the radiator i notice small bubbles coming to the surface. The car runs beautiful except for the smoke screen it leaves. Any suggestions would be helpful and appreciated.

With the engine cold, take the radiator cap off and have someone crank the car. If the water seals are gone it will bubble up. Do this ASAP and contact Atkins sooner than possible to let them know of your trouble whether its the seals or not.

A newly rebuilt engine will make smoke. How long all depends on how much lubricant and vaseline etc was used in the rebuild. I use probably toooo much and mine smokes for over and hour. The engine throws that rebuild grease/oil/vaseline, into the exaust. It takes some time for the exaust to get hot enough to burn all the excess out of the exaust. Do not dispair.....yet. Give it at least and hour plus of constant running. Repeat...constant running. Also monitor the temp gauge while doing this. Make sure the radiator is topped off prior to running. That's my opinion. Small bubbles don't mean squat.

hybridracer .....Of course they could have made a mistake in the rebuild and its got an internal leak. Things happen on occasion. I'm sure they'll get him another motor if its bad. I still go with letting it run for an hour plus.....then get mad. Real mad.
