New 7 on board need advice
I just bought a 87 TII and need some advice on where to start. The car is bone stock but has 140k on it, so it will be getting a rebuilt, possibly streetport.
Should i rebuild the tranny while i'm at it?
What would i need to get if i streetport it?
Headers?
Exhaust?
Downpipe?
boost conttroller?
boost guage?
Fuel cut defense?
turbo timer?

Boost gauge - yes don't trust the stock
headers - this is turbo, no header(s)
downpipe/exhaust - racing beat downpipe is good, so is their exhaust, or you can go corksport, apex'i, or get one made for you
fuel cut defense - definitely
boost controller - always good

well since it is a turbo, you dont even need a header! exhaust and downpipe-definately. fcd-definately. boost gauge would be a good idea since the stock one isnt too accurate. i think a manual boost controller will do.. and a turbo timer isnt a necessity since the turbo is oil and water cooled, so just when you are about 30 seconds away from home, try not to get on it
