Get a manual from Autozone and look in the troubleshooting section...
Meanwhile... Do a full tune up... This would include checking compression and changing the spark plugs/wires, fuel filter, air filter, setting timing, oil change and anything else I am forgetting... There is not as much to it as a piston engine... Then make sure there is no leaks in the intake tubing or plenum or intake manifold... This will screw with the MAF and make it run crappy... Look for vac lines that are off... Better yet... Just replace them all... One at a time of course... Otherwise you will never find where they all go again... If that does not fix it you will have to go to the next level, cause I dont know what to tell you...
