Ok guys just wanted to say i am new to the site and to rotary motors as well... I recently bought a 90 RX7 with a 13B engine and i am having some trouble with it and thought you guys could help me figure this one out... The owner that had it before me said the car ran great and he didnt have any probs with it until one day the motor started to get weak he said on the car.. He bought another motor and swapped in the car but still couldnt make it run... The motor is "supposed" to be a good motor but when i try to start it, it runs for about 15-20 seconds then dies... If you wait a while then try again it does the same thing.... Any help would be appreciated.. I have no clue about rotary motors. I do know LS1 and other chevy motors...

Welcome to the club!
As always for new people, please be sure to search and read the FAQ.

As to your problem, start with the basics. Fuel, Air Spark. Make sure the timing is set correctly (talked about a lot search for timing and you'll find it). Also, these cars seem to have miles of vacuum lines and if certain ones are missing, broken/cracked, you'll have problems keeping the car going.

The easiest way to test the engine to see if it's good is to do a compression test. Go to www.rotaryresurrection.com go to tech and read about compression testing. It's a little different the cylinder engines.

Good luck with the car, and come back with your findings! The more information you can provide us the better we can help troubleshoot the problem!
